![]() The primary duties of the EEG Tech are to perform EEG tests when requested by a physician. The tech should be able to communicate effectively with the patients and families to relieve their stress through education about the test procedure. The EEG Tech would also be responsible for performing pre-test consultations and recording the patient’s medical history. ![]() These tests can also be performed while the patient is sleeping. With this testing it is possible to detect brain disorders and/or damage. The techs use these machines to perform testing called an Electroencephalogram (EEG). These machines are used to measure and record the electrical activity of brain waves via electrodes secured to the patient’s scalp. The EEG Tech is trained to operate Electroencephalographs. ![]() By either name, this person is trained to use specialized equipment to local brain abnormalities, working under the supervision of physicians and neurologists. ![]() Occupational Therapy Assistant, COTA, OTAĮlectroencephalographic (EEG) Techs are also sometimes known as Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Techs. ![]()
